Privacy Policy

How we look after your information

Last updated . Written in plain English, no legalese where it can be avoided.

1. Who we are

Elbowaenewia is a small studio based at 372 King's Rd, London SW3 5UZ, United Kingdom. In this policy "we", "us" and "our" refer to Elbowaenewia, and "you" refers to the person visiting our website or writing to the studio.

2. What this policy covers

This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website or contact the studio, why we collect it, how long we keep it for and the choices you have about it. It applies to every page on this site and to any messages you send us through the contact form, by email or by phone.

3. The information we collect

Information you give us

  • Your name and email address when you submit the contact form.
  • The contents of any message you send us, including any details about your mornings you choose to share.
  • Any further details you decide to share if we agree to a discovery call.

Information collected automatically

  • Basic technical details such as your browser type, device type, screen size and approximate region.
  • Pages you visit on the site and the order you visit them in, so we can understand which content is helpful.
  • A small set of cookies described in our Cookies Policy.

4. Why we use it

We only use your information for a small number of clearly defined reasons:

  • To reply to messages you send us and arrange any follow-up the conversation requires.
  • To deliver any product or service you have asked for, such as a printable blueprint or a discovery call.
  • To understand which pages are useful and improve them over time.
  • To keep the site secure and to comply with our legal obligations in the United Kingdom.

5. Our legal basis

Under UK data protection law we rely on the following lawful bases:

  • Consent when you tick the consent box on the contact form or accept cookies.
  • Contract when we are providing a service you have purchased.
  • Legitimate interests for low-impact analytics and keeping the site secure.
  • Legal obligation where we are required by law to retain certain records.

6. How long we keep your information

We hold contact-form messages for up to twenty-four months unless we are in an active conversation with you. Client records relating to paid services are held for six years after the last interaction, in line with UK accounting requirements. Analytics data is held in aggregated form only and does not identify you personally.

7. Who we share it with

We do not sell your data to anyone. We share limited information only with the small number of trusted providers we use to run the site — for example, our email provider so we can reply to you, and our analytics provider so we can understand site usage. Each of them is contractually required to handle your information at least as carefully as we do.

8. International transfers

Some of our providers store data outside the United Kingdom. When this happens we rely on the safeguards built into UK data protection law, including approved standard contractual clauses and adequacy decisions, to make sure your data continues to be protected to the same standard.

9. Your rights

You have a number of rights over your personal data. In short, you can:

  • Ask for a copy of the information we hold about you.
  • Ask us to correct anything that is wrong or out of date.
  • Ask us to delete your information, where we are not required to keep it.
  • Ask us to restrict or object to certain uses of it.
  • Withdraw your consent at any time, where consent is the basis we rely on.
  • Complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office if you are not happy with how we have handled your data.

10. How to contact us about privacy

The easiest way is to use the contact form and write "Privacy" at the top of your message. You can also phone the studio on +44 20 7483 3344 during weekday office hours.

11. Changes to this policy

We update this policy from time to time. When we make a meaningful change we will revise the "last updated" date at the top of the page and, where appropriate, draw it to your attention on the site.
